Restored 1946 Book from FMN Publishing
Painted by Ann Kovach
This book was called Punch-Out Dolls but since we don't have a die-cutting feature when we print our paper dolls, we couldn't very well call it that. Since these five children do so many activities together that inspired the new name...and we could not find any other paper doll by this name in all the reference books. Pretty amazing, eh?
The five little buddies have clothes to:
* Play and swim at the shore
* Have a picnic in the park
* Dress up for a costume party
* Go camping in the woods
* and Have a slumber party
* Give a garden party
Lovely backgrounds for the 6 costume pages tell a story through a setting where the children would wear the clothes. They have been charmingly painted by the same lady who painted the dolls; Ann Kovach. We did some considerable re-painting to make the nearly square book fit the vertical format, and did the usual brightening of darkened edges, and freshening the whole look to pretty and new. It's a fun book just to look at.
We are delighted to present this vintage restored/reprinted "perfect bound" (stapled) book from Forget-me-Not Publishing (FMN). These are 11”x17" sheets printed in permanent laser colors, on top grade papers, folded and stapled to a finished size of 8.5x11. This new formatting may result in a reduction of 5 to 23% smaller than the originally published size. Costume pages are on Bright white archival 32# laser paper. Covers are on archival 80# laser cover stock paper. These papers are a dream to cut...nice clean edges, no popping of inks, very smooth and fun to handle. We slip the book into a crystal clear archival protective seal-top bag to keep it nice and clean.
