COKE CROWD of 1946
Restored Merrill Book from FMN Publishing
Clothes by Clara Ernst Barnes
Wonderful find! It was a bit tattered and aged, but it was worth the work to get it bright and beautiful again. First published in 1946, and now just as lively and fun-filled as a passle (8 to be exact) of teen-agers enjoying innocent joys of youth, just after the big war.
They cook together at a Western "Bar-B-Q"; they attend a county fair; they go on dates- of course; dance at a pretty prom; and go to school. 6 pages of activity costumes. It looks like it may have been painted by the same artist who painted Sub Deb for Merrill in 1941; Irving Nurick. Can't say for sure though.
This is a stapled BOOK. We are delighted to present this vintage restored/reprinted "perfect bound" (stapled) book from Forget-me-Not Publishing (FMN). These are 11”x17" sheets printed in permanent laser colors, on top grade papers, folded and stapled to a finished size of 8.5x11. This new formatting may result in a reduction of 5 to 23% smaller than the originally published size. Costume pages are on Bright white archival 32# laser paper. Covers are on archival 80# laser cover stock paper. These papers are a dream to cut...nice clean edges, no popping of inks, very smooth and fun to handle. We slip the book into a crystal clear archival protective Mylar sleeve to keep it nice and clean.
