MARINETTE & LUCY
Original Paper Doll from 1940 Artwork
This book is derived from a collection of original paper doll art by Marinette Heltzen who lived in Mexico City with her family most of her youthful days.
Paper Doll collector, Tracy Gossard inherited the lovely collection of hundreds of drawings. Some of them had been drawn and painted by Ms. Heltzen, some had color added by Tracy, and all of them underwent a lot of modification to make them publishable.
Tracy asked for two dolls in the same pose...as all the costumes were made for the same doll (which was not publishable)... one Caucasian and one darker skinned. The dolls are modified from Davi Botts Airline Hostess. The backgrounds are adapted from some Hilda Miloche books and other early 40s paper doll books.
8.5"x11" finished stapled book, with 20 pages including covers. All archival; laser printed, presented in crystal clear seal-top bags.
