COWGIRL JILL AND COWBOY JOE
Restored 1952 Paper Doll
Just looking at the art in this book brings you back to the 50s and the days of cowboy movies and cowboys on TV. Every catalogue had cowboy/girl gear and costumes to buy for the kids. Boy, did I ever want a Dale Evans outfit! We settled for making fringed vests out of brown paper bags, and did have some cap guns around to play like the characters we saw on TV. (One must admit to one's age to remember these things.)
Still this is a delightful book, as Merrill hired the best cover artists and the costumes are beautifully painted too. We don't know the artists' names though.
Two dolls, six pages of Western style clothes. All archival materials; 80# cardstock covers, 32# clothes pages, lovely smooth satin-finished fine grain papers---so nice to cut.
