1934 Vanity Fair Celebrity PD Collection
In 1934 Vanity Fair, the prestigious east coast "intellectual" periodical, ran a series of celebrity paper dolls, painted by charicature artist, Alajalov. We have the entire, hard to find, collection reproduced here for you. We have used the cover of the magazine at the time the series began in February 1934, with FDR riding America as a horse in stylized portrait art.
In this group are:
#1 - J Pierpont Morgan (great financier/banker)
#2 - Aimee MacPherson Hutton (famous evangelist)
#3 - Grand Duchess Marie of Russia (of the ousted Royals)
#4 - Edward Prince of Wales (future king of England, gave up throne to marry "the love of my life" divorcee' Mrs. Simpson)
#5 - Ernest Hemingway (famous American author)
#6 - Albert Einstein (the great physicist)
#7 - Heywood Campbell Broun (radical Marxist/socialite)
We have brightened the colors, cleaned up yellowed backgrounds, and resized to fit out 8.5"x11" format. The book is entirely printed on 80# cardstock. Stored in crystal clear archival seal-topped bag.
