Paper Dolls from Women's Home Companion
1923-1925, Featuring the Art of
Frances Tipton Hunter
ERRATA! It was in front of my face all the time...but somehow I mixed up the art of two wonderful illustrators of children. The paper dolls in this book are by Frances Tipton Hunter, and for a couple years now, I have been promoting the book as Jessie Wilcox Smith's art. Many apologies to you, my dear customers, and to any family of Ms. Hunter's.
I have changed the covers to properly represent Ms. Hunter as the true artist of these darling paper dolls.
These are gorgeous full color pages (plus covers) from 1923 to 1925, all by Ms. Hunter, but one page by John Rae- of child actor, Jackie C. These paper dolls illustrate
* The 4 page child star series: Movie Kids, Jackie C., Litle Peggy, Peter Pan;
* The 4 page series of "Punch and Judy, The Twins" as they grow from babyhood to school age, and
* 5 of the 6 page series-The Little Busybodies.
All are winsome, huggable children, beautifully painted both in form and costume design by one of America's highest paid illustrators of her time.
John Rae's beautifully illustrated books can still be found in web searches on Alibris, Amazon, Cafe Press, and others.
Stapled book, finished size, 8.5"x11". Covers are 80# cardstock, inside pages are on 32# stock. Each book comes in archival sealed bag.
