JON WHITCOMB COVERS, 1939-1946
Irresistible Images Collage Sheet
Jon Whitcomb was one of America's top illustrators from pre-WWII, well into the 50s. His beautiful women, and romantic, touching sentiments was just what America needed during those scary war years when loved ones were far away and in harms way. He painted women waiting at home with their children for their man to return, but he also painted women in uniform, and women on the home front doing their part. He was popular with both men and women for depicting full spectrum personalities of people who worked and loved their home and their country, as well as women of great beauty.
