Mother and Daughter
Restored 1963 Paper Doll Book
(Variation of #2624)
Paper doll publishers used to make several grades of the same set to sell at top to low prices, depending on the market.
1. a double-cover original version with 6 or 8 costume pages. Covers, high quality with die-cut (perforated) dolls. And a pocket page for inside front and back covers.
2. a single (front and back) variation with 2 fewer costume pages, and maybe fewer dolls. Covers, high quality with die-cut (perforated) dolls.
3. a soft cover with no die-cutting and only 4 pages.
They often used the same costumes, but painted different dolls and covers. Like THIS ONE. We have #2524 with 4 dolls (two pairs of Mother and daughter) and the same 6 pages of clothes (this one has some floral trim in the background), but single covers with just one mother-daughter pair.
Stapled book size 8.5"x11", all archival, stored in a crystal clear seal-top bag.
