Angela Tuite's Paper Dolls
from 1940s Children's PLAY MATE Magazines
It's fun to collect magazine paper dolls, then to gather them together for these compendiums. I must thank my mother, Helen, for doing most of the sleuthing to acquire so many magazine paper dolls, which she made her specialty.
I've used a lovely painting by Gertrude Kay as the background for the cover, and laid a dressed doll onto the scene.
All the paper dolls from the 1940s add up to 14 single pages in our book plus the covers. Four of the pages and ten are double paper dolls, just as they were presented in the magazine, after the first four having been done singly.
Subjects include world costume, some pages for you to design/enhance the costumes, and one of 2 children, and an angel to make for Christmas.
