STAND-UPS OF MOTHER GOOSE
Art by Sidney Sage
Saalfield #2099, of 1934
The Art Deco style illustrations in this wonderful playbook make it simply collectible AND a great resource for design. Each page is a nursery rhyme with punch-out figures. The die cutting is so complete that some of the figures are partly loose, but they are all still in place.
-Where are you going my pretty maid?
-Old King Cole
-Barber, Barber shave a pig
-Sing and Song of Sixpence
-Mary, Mary Quite Contrary
Each with the verse below the image.
Also a Mother Goose verse inside the back cover and her own illustration on the front.
A little interesting addition is a black and white mock-up for a pop-up card using the man and woman from the back cover. Not sure if it was ever produced by Shackman or not.
Condition- Very Good. A little wear at the edges. Paper in good condition (not dry and crunchy.) Color excellent.
Size, 10.5" x 12.5" will make foreign shipments higher.
BTW- My mother paid $100 for a book just like this, back in the 1990s. That was the going rate at the time. This treasure will surely rise back up in value.
