Restored Newspaper Paper Dolls
from the Boston Sunday Post
"Patricia Spends Summer in a Nice Hotel"
and "Lizette Goes to Florida"
By Lucy Eleanor Leary, 1944
These nicely drawn paper dolls used to be in the weekly editions of the Boston Sunday Post. The were originally rather large, spreading across about 1/3 of a bottom section of the page. I have rearranged the components to fit the format of an 8.5" x 11" page. These both from 1944, have a Travel theme. (We don't have a more specific date.)
Lizett) Goes to Florida to Visit Her Cousin, Esther
and Patricia is going to spend the Summer at a nice Hotel!
"Restoring" newsprint art is much more than restoring...it's improving! Newspaper printing is rough, sloppy, and needs a great deal of work to make them sharp, bright and clean.
Each are all archival; laser printed on 80# coverstock, 8.5" x 11" and stored in a crystal clear seal-top bag.
