C0 NNIE F
MGM Singing Star Cut-Outs
Restored 1963 Whitman Book
for Collector Reference
Multi-talented and lovely C0nnie hit the song scene big-time in 1957 with a 1920s song, Who's Sorry Now? first heard on the Arthr G0dfrey Show. Now we cannot hum that tune without hearing her voice behind it. Other unmistakable songs of hers are: (from the film she starred in-) Whre the B0ys Are; Lipstick 0n Your C0llar; Everyb0dy's S0meb0dy's F00l; and My H4ppiness. A huge star, she sold millions of singles, starred in movies and TV shows, was a guest on many variety shows, and had her own musical variety show too. We still get a rush of happy memories each time her wonderful rich voice rolls over the airwaves.
This book is redesigned from a folder set. Some of the clothes in the set I borrowed were cut out, and I am unsure if all the clothes are here. However, I arranged the ones I had into the six pages you see above. There are double covers, and the inside back one can be glued to the back, after cutting the slot to make a storage place for cut out clothes. The doll, which was a free-standing hard board doll, now rests on the second page. So we have double covers (4 pgs) on 80# cardstock, and six costume pages on 31# stock. All archival, satin finished, and lovely to cut.
Finished stapled book size is about 18% smaller than the original, and now 8.5" x 11". Comes in crystal clear Mylar seal-top bag.
